Editor's Introduction: The Central Urban Work Conference held in July 2025 has made systematic arrangements for urban work in the new era, focusing on accelerating the transformation of urban development models, promoting high-quality urban development, and building modern people's cities. It has also set higher requirements for planning practice. Centered on implementing the spirit of the Central Urban Work Conference, this academic dialogue invites more than ten experts from national planning management departments, local natural resources and planning authorities, and front-line planning practice to discuss new planning practices across different cities and regions. These discussions are not a collection of scattered experiences but are embedded within key dimensions including planning as judgment, restructuring of implementation mechanisms, transformation of development momentum, and renewal of planning methods, constituting a systematic response to the "new planning" practice.
