Abstract: As an advanced model of urban development embodying the principles of ecological civilization and high-quality development, the “park city” is increasingly being implemented in the context of urban transformation and stock-based regeneration. This transition places new demands on urban-design methods and expands their value. Taking the Zhangcun River Area in Qingdao as a case, this paper integrates park-city development with the redevelopment and qualitative improvement of existing urban areas. It emphasizes ecological empowerment and local character and examines urban-design methods at multiple scales and across multiple dimensions, from regional ecological structure to detailed place-making. The study is intended to inform the localized application and broader implementation of park-city development.
